Graduated from Semmelweis University in 1990, he started working in the most prominent Kutvolgyi Hospital in Budapest which has been renamed as II. Surgery Clinic of Semmelweis University.
Dr. Peter Sipos received a Ph.D. degree after taking specialist examinations in surgery and gastroenterology. Following breast surgery training in London, he worked in Germany for almost 5 years. This is where he began bariatric surgery in addition to the complex treatment of the hernia.
Dr. Sipos personalized hernia surgery with the right type of mesh implant (polypropylene, polyester, macroporous light-weight or anatomical mesh) or without mesh using the McVay or Desarda method.
In addition to surgery, he performs Gastric Sleeve and Gastric Bypass on overweight patients, occasionally does stomach ring adjustment, port replacement, and port removal as well.
His main areas of interest are individualized care of inguinal hernia and Abdominoplasty: complex abdominal reconstructions with component separation techniques, from abdominal eventration (large abdominal hernia) to rectus diastasis, the separation of straight abdominal muscles.
His decades of practice in the field of abdominal surgery and his pursuit of aesthetically perfect incision line make Dr. Sipos particularly capable of performing abdominal plastic surgery to restore both the function and aesthetics of the abdominal wall.
As for the inguinal hernia solutions, in addition to extraperitoneal, and even transabdominal surgery, he uses the Deserda technique based on the patient’s fascia.
He strives to provide the ideal wound healing conditions during surgery and, in the case of problematic wounds, the appropriate pharmacological or laser treatment.
